Y'2 Leather IB-141 Indigo Dyed Horsehide Type II Leather Jacket – Indigo
The Y'2 Leather IB-141 Indigo Horsehide Type II Jacket brings together two worlds rarely seen in leather: indigo dye and horsehide. While indigo is traditionally used on denim, making it bond to leather is extremely difficult. After more than three years of development with specialized Japanese tanneries, Y'2 Leather succeeded in stabilizing this process, creating a material that ages much like a favorite pair of jeans.
The jacket is crafted from 1,3 mm thick indigo-dyed horsehide, offering a dense yet flexible structure. The leather is first prepared with a light natural base tone before being dyed with indigo. As the jacket wears in, the indigo slowly evolves, revealing subtle depth and variation. The interior features an original cotton and linen body lining, while the nylon sleeve lining allows for easy layering and movement.
Inspired by the 1950s Type II denim jacket, the design keeps the iconic front pleats, twin chest pockets and side adjuster tabs, finished with contrast stitching reminiscent of vintage denim jackets. Every piece is handcrafted in Japan, where decades of leather expertise meet precise construction.
This jacket does not simply age. It develops character with every wear.
